* Most LIVE gig photos use no “camera flash,” and instead utilize stage lighting and ambiance. This is something that cannot be done with amateur equipment – no matter how much someone’s girlfriend or uncle may think otherwise. Stage photos using flash are generally poor in quality because it does nothing to show the depth of field and kills the effect of stage lighting. If and when it’s used (mostly punk rock gigs) it will be used as an effect to create chaos and it generally looks pretty cool… But it gets overused very quickly. Concert photos are candid moments and you absolutely get what you pay for here.
