Here’s my resume.
Hi. My name is Michael Winter and I play pedal steel in a rock band. It’s loud, and it’s awesome.
I love photography and spent 8 years in the United States Navy specializing in capturing day-to-day life onboard a really big boat, the USS Kitty Hawk CV-63. When I left the Navy I moved back to Portland, Oregon and started to figure out what I want to do with my life.
I’m still figuring that out.
My love for photography and live music is where my heart lies, unfortunately its not where the money’s at. At this point it’s a hobby, but I’m working on creating my own style and getting my name out there.
My goal is to work as an assistant photographer here in the Portland area, to learn, and build the confidence I need to start my own venture.
Or something like that.
Check out my work. Here’s my resume. If you like what you see, contact me.

That’s me rockin’ out on the Fender pedal steel guitar.

As a Navy Photographer part of my job was to shoot full length portraits of officers so they could show the promotion board that they were “ship-shape squared-away!”

Another part of my job was to shoot and edit video… That’s me at the editing station hard at work… HARD AT WORK!
